In the remote village of Crawfall, on the edge of the black forest, stood a mansion that even the birds turned away from. It was rumoured to be the home of the powerful magician and alchemist Richard Blackthorn. He sought the path to immortality by performing forbidden rituals and summoning entities from other worlds.
One day, a young Mary appeared on the doorstep of the mansion, dreaming of learning the secrets of magic. Blackthorne accepted her as his apprentice. But his intentions were false. It wasn't a desire to share knowledge that possessed him. He knew that in her sleeps an ancient power ー the perfect key to open the gates to another world.
The day had come. The magician was one step away from immortality, only to make the sacrifice. But as soon as the knife blade touched Meri's throat, the house shook. Walls cried blood, windows and mirrors shattered. Mary was gone. But her spirit remained.
It is forever imprisoned in the house, becoming a ghost ー the one later to be called ‘Bloody Mary’
